Went for a so-called volunteer training in the morning,
follow by another in the afternoon.
Another coincident that so happen to meet a poly friend during the volunteering activity!
haha...
Anyway,
the two volunteering experiences with two different types of beneficiaries really let me think a lots about life!
2 amazing volunteering experiences which taught me precious lessons:
1. It is never easy to live in the dark and having to carry out daily tasks such as playing tennis, hence should be grateful that I am born with a pair of eyes that allow me to see the beautiful world.
2. "Communicating is often taken for granted by most people, people with intellectually disability struggle to express their needs." Therefore, learn to communicate more often!
3. It is often people who are born normal do not know how to be contented, keep complaining and are negative about life. If we can be as positive as those people who are born with impair, this world will be a lot more beautiful!
知足常乐!
Have faith in yourself that you can do it no matter whatever tasks you are given/want to take up,
learn to appreciate life,
cherish every single moments,
always stay positive and be happy with your life!
:)
Then gathering with volunteering friends in the evening,
went to have porridge at Chinatown,
follow by drinking at crazyworld cafe!
The beer (alcohol:7.0) that I had doesnt even have the taste of ginger,
very disappointed!
Recently,
I realized there is a bit of conflict in term of thinking/ways of doing thing.
Sometimes changes are good,
but before deciding to take the move,
need to really give it a serious thoughts - the pros and cons.
How long will it lasts?
However,
if think so much and dont take the move,
how can you be so sure that the new changes wont work?
There are times when you dont like the way others work,
but just follow along because ultimately why are we volunteering?
To help the beneficiaries,
to bring joys to the beneficaries,
isnt it?
haha...
Anyway,
just some simple thoughts!
Gonna plan for two short holidays in Nov and Dec with volunteering friends!
A small group going holiday will be good!
hehe...
look forward and I have just sent an email to the travel agency which I booked the Batam tour,
asking them about the packages and requesting for quotation.
I will continue to check with other travel agencies too!
Today I am a 仔女!
Stay home and rest,
especially lack of sleep!
Went out in the late morning to settle my ez-link card,
the uni card expired,
I am officially an adult...
have to pay adult fare!
Will try to take bus because it is cheaper,
though longer travelling hour!
Then bought LJS home for lunch and went to take afternoon nap at around one plus pm
To my horror,
I slept for more than 2hrs plus!
Wake up at 4+pm and start revision!
Was feeling great the whole day because Hp was in silent mode and occasionally check Hp for msgs and missed calls!
Hehe...
Work
Finally the 3 days of design review are over!
Exhausted because have to wake up very early around 5+am in order to reach office and set up everything from projectors to laptops ready!
But this is work,
ya?
Even superior,
himself also cannot wake up so early!
See the following short conversation:
Superior: "Tommorrow, you coming so early like today?"
MW: "Yes!" (If not count on you? Haiz)
Superior: "That's great. It's going to be a tough fight for me to come so early."
MW: haha
Colleague X (who overheard the conversation): "Next time if he ask you what time you are coming, ask him next year appraisal to give you more bonus and increments! Else he will take everything you do for granted/bully you!"
MW: :o ... No comment! Shall I? Hehe...
And 3 days of half-cooked lunch - Subway.
My first time having subway and I dont really like because I dont like uncooked veggies!
:P
I am glad that everything went well including the package that I re-design/pass over to me after the 30% design!
Hopefully this new method of designing the public address system really works!
Anyway,
now is into the low peak period where we can slack a little bit and get ready for the next peak period in september!
Last Friday,
we had our night out too!
The second teambuilding event at Magic carpet lounge,
with theme of the night: Arabia Night
The first teambuilding was at St. James Power Station and I didnt attend because of guitar test
Anyway,
it was fun with the bellydance performance and free flow of Carlsberg Draft Beer!
haha,
I left early and went to explore bugis.
Coincidently met one of my poly friend!
He seemed not to recognize me when he was distributing the yogurt or ice cream to me!
I never take from him and instead looked at him for a while before he asked how are you!
haha,
he doesnt change much,
still look the same as before!
:)
Personal
Finally exam schedule in August is out!
And last paper is on 17 Aug 2012,
fantastic!
After exam,
I applied for 3 days non-continuous of annual leave -
2 days of leave to join volunteering activities and 1 day for USS!
August will be a great month for me...
2 days of public holiday;
3 days of annual leave;
2 days of exam leave.
hehe...
After that have to dig out my sign language note and revise because I am going to the charity car wash with the hearing impair people in September!
Haha...
Leisure
Kind of busy hanging out with friends?
Seem to have so many activities in July...
First week of Jul:
Monday (02 Jul) - Attending a volunteering meeting that I look forward to (like attending the meeting but not hearing people shooting!)
Thursday (05 Jul) - Gathering with poly friends which cannot be miss because very rarely we will have such get together!
:)
Saturday (07 Jul) - Dentist appointment (need to decide to the super expensive tooth extraction?) and work pt,
follow by mid night volunteering!
Second week of Jul:
Thursday (12 Jul) - Another dinner (Sushi, yummy!) appointment.
Saturday (14 Jul) - Going for the volunteering activity I waited for so long! hehe.
Third week of Jul:
Sunday (22 Jul) - Volunteering activity in the morning,
follow by gathering with volunteering friends in the evening!
Actually,
I didnt want to go for the gathering and sms the organizer about it because ample rest is very important.
However,
organizer ask me to join,
she said will let me go home early and not stay till so late.
So I dont want to disappoint the organizer and I replied okay!
Fourth week of Jul:
Saturday (28 Jul) - Maybe go for a few hours of volunteering.
Sunday (29 Jul) - Another gathering with volunteering friends at Garden By the Bay!
This time round,
I make sure that I have at least one weekend from July till early August to stay at home and study/revise for the coming exams in August!
Be a good student!
:)
